Flag of French Guiana : ウィキペディア英語版 | Flag of French Guiana
The flag of French Guiana, an overseas region of France located in South America, is a white field on which is placed a logo showing a yellow five-pointed star in a patch of blue, over an orange figure in a yellow boat on a patch of green, over two wavy orange lines. Above the logo is inscribed ''GUYANE'', and ''LA RÉGION'' below. On 29 January 2010, the General Council (departmental council) of the overseas department of French Guiana unilaterally adopted a flag of French Guiana. This has not been recognized by the superior regional council. Moreover, only the French flag is officially recognized by the French constitution as the national flag. The departmental flag adopted by the General Council is composed by the following colours: Green represents the forests, yellow represents gold and other minerals of the region, while the red star represents socialism.〔(Le Conseil général adopte le drapeau guyanais )〕 The flag is identical with the one of pro-independence trade union UGT and also MDES. ==References==
